Connecting with people is the framework of a dance school. The connectedness within Live Love Perform refers to the support that our students and families receive from us and the sense of belonging that comes from being a part of a dance community.
As a dance school we take pride in ensuring that our students are part of a community. We regularly host dance tasters within the community at events run by local businesses and organisations such as Dorking Minds, Action for Carers Surrey and Surrey Hills Tinies. Students are given the opportunity to perform and grow their performance skills as well as being part of their wider community.
As a dance school, we also host two dance shows a year at local venues where all our students have the opportunity to showcase their skills they have learnt to friends and family. Our students look forward to these performances and with support from our Live Love Perform team, we ensure that any nerves that are expressed to us are dealt with to ensure the most positive experience for them.
Connectedness has been linked with greater achievement. It is suggested that when children are part of a community, whether at school or an extracurricular activity, they are less likely to experience poor mental health.
Dance friends make the best friends!
Being surrounded with others that share similar passions and goals is more likely to develop as a special bond that empowers both parties to excel.
Friendships allow a sense of belonging and security and can influence connectedness. Strong and stable friendships often promote positive mental health, improve self-esteem and decrease loneliness.
All our dance teachers strive to ensure that our dancers are in a safe space during their time in class. Dance is a time to express yourself. Any of our team can be approached at any time, in or out of class, to discuss any concerns you might have. Additonally, two members of our team are Mental Health First Aid Trained.
